I spent some time with the 2025 Sierra EV Denali driving around the San Francisco Bay area and in this video I bring you my thoughts. The truck looks great both inside and out, and it's not just a pretty face.

The Sierra EV is packing some serious tech under the hood. That being said, let's start with the design. The GMC Sierra EV Denali is a crew cab model with an integrated 5 foot 11 inch cargo bed with the multi pro mid gate open that expands to 9ft of storage between the cab and the tailgate and with it completely down the storage length expands further to 10ft 10 inches and can keep cargo in place using the tailgates load stop feature.

Inside the truck, the first thing you notice is the massive infotainment display in the center of the dash. It's a 16.8 inch touchscreen there in the center but the driver also gets an additional 11 inch information display as well. The center dial of the touchscreen controls volume and there are also analog buttons at the bottom which can be customized and updated alongside the infotainment software thanks to over the air updates. Oh, and there's also a nice large 14 inch heads up display as well for the drive.

Inside the cabin, you'll find premium materials like grain mashed open pore wood, aluminum, and etched stainless steel. The center console features a wood veneer induction wireless charger that slides open for storage while still charging your smartphone, GMC told us. The detailed stitching on the front seats matches up with the lines of the truck's profile and are accented by the light from the panoramic glass roof.

The seats are nice and comfortable with a combination of registered perforation, embroidery, and quilting for depth and texture. And if you end up in the back seat, you'll have a ton of legroom while you ride. But from a visual perspective, the interior screams quality.

Next, let's talk performance. This trim level will feature a 24 module pack that allows for an estimated 400 miles of range. The platform doubles as a structural element of the vehicle, adding to its overall strength. The placement of the battery pack also lowers the truck's center of gravity, adding better stability for drivers.

Your rear and front motors combine to deliver 760 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in max power mode. According to GM's estimates, max power mode is one of several modes Sierra Denali EV drivers will be able to choose from in addition to standard towing and hauling, off-road, and something called My mode, which you can customize with your driving preferences and ride height.

Like GM's Hummer EV, the Sierra Denali EV will offer four-wheel steering, which enables crab walk, the mode that allows for a smaller turning radius and improved maneuvering in tight spots.

With these bi-directional capabilities, the GMC Sierra EV will come equipped with the capability to charge other EVs and operate as a backup power source for your home through GM Energy's Ultium home platform.

GMC says that a single Sierra EV Denali can power a home's essential necessities for up to 21 days straight, which is impressive if true. The 2025 Sierra EV Denali will be available in six colors, with this midnight matte variant being my favorite by far.
